About the project

The main objective of the project is to discover the factors that affect the competitiveness of the agri-food sector of the Republic of Serbia, which includes the research of the entire food supply chain: farms, food producers, and consumers. Furthermore, the project covers the foreign trade competitiveness of the entire country.

The area of research focus includes entire food supply chain: from farms, through food producers, to consumers.

Publication of scientific papers in international high-ranked journals.

Conference and Panel Discussion

Organizing a session at scientific conference and a panel discussion with business representatives, academics, and policymakers.

International and Domestic Collaboration

Facilitating interorganizational collaboration and knowledge-sharing initiatives to leverage global and national expertise in agri-food sector.

Industry Guidelines

Development of industry guidelines and best practices for agri-food businesses to improve their competitiveness in alignment with sustainability principles.

Policy Recommendations

Insights into effective policies and regulatory frameworks that can enhance competitiveness while promoting sustainability within the agri-food sector.

Project POT4food is approved for funding under the Program for Еxcellent Projects of Young Researchers and Scientists in the Early Stage of Career – PROMIS 2023. PROMIS 2023 is intended to support excellent projects of young researchers in the early stages of their careers, up to 7 years after finishing the PhD (for details click here). In accordance with the defined objectives of the PROMIS 2023 Program, the POT4food project aims to empower young scientists to manage projects and enables stronger cooperation between young researchers from different institutions in scientific research – Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade, and Leibniz institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies.
